Android 9 Pie goes out to first carrier-locked Galaxy S9 and S9+ units in the US
Date: 31 January 2019
Samsung's Galaxy S9 and S9+ update to Android 9 Pie has been available in a number of regions for a while now, and yesterday it finally made its official debut in the US. Even though the units sold unlocked, as well as those purchased from the 'big four' carriers, are still left waiting, we hope they will be getting it within the next few days or weeks.
Also, if you purchased your S9 or S9+ from Comcast's Xfinity Mobile network, you're in luck , as the updates have been confirmed to now rolling out for these handsets.
If you are yet to receive the notification, you can manually check for the new update by going to the Software update menu in your phone's Settings app. Apart from all the goodies packed by Google in Android 9 Pie, plus Samsung's new revamped One UI, you will also get the January 2019 security patches.
