How to turn on dark mode in Google contacts app on Android phone or tablet

Open Play store app > Three horizontal lines from top left corner > My apps & games > Updates.

If available update, update Google’s contact app to latest versions (3.5.7…183) to set dark theme to Google contact android app.

Step 1: Swipe up from bottom of the home screen to access app drawer in your android 9 Pie or Oreo 8.1

Step 2: Tap Contacts app

Step 3: Tap Three horizontal lines (More) at upper left side

Step 4: Select Settings

Step 5: Tap Choose theme under display section

Step 6: Choose theme from Light / Dark / System default (Dark theme set by Battery saver).
