vivo's hole-less concept phone, the APEX 2019, is definitely living up to its purpose and the expectation of many.

Because of its lack of buttons, it marks it's touch sensitive side "buttons" with the Always-On Display. And its Power key has a tiny "nub" that marks its position to allow you to feel it without looking.

But the icing on the cake is, however, the in-display fingerprint reader. Covering essentially the whole display, it only needs a couple of taps to learn a fingerprint. After that it works quickly and at any orientation.

The charging/data cable is attached magnetically onto the pogo pins on the back, seeming pretty quick once you get used to it. But you need to have a proprietary adapter on you at all times.

The loudspeaker – which is tricky considering that no holes means no speaker grill. Interestingly, in the test video, sound seems to carry in all directions, but is definitely louder from the back.

The vivo APEX 2019 is set up with a Snapdragon 855 chipset, 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage. It appears to have almost everything, and the one thing that's missing is the selfie camera.
